Claims and Receiving SolarCoin Rewards


I have a solar installation. How do I receive my SolarCoin?

SolarCoin has partnered with SMA’s Sunny Portal to offer claiming directly on their platform.

If you are not a Sunny Portal customer, you may claim your SolarCoin by filling out the form at https://claim.solarcoin.org


I filed a claim but I haven’t received my SolarCoin yet. When will I get them?

Each new claim is checked by our fraud team, which can take up to two weeks when claim volume is high. You will receive a notification by email when your claim is approved.

Once your claim has been approved, you will receive your SolarCoin on a monthly basis.


Can I mine SolarCoin?

Bitcoin and many other blockchains use mining to validate transactions. The Energy Web Chain, the underlying blockchain for SolarCoin, uses a different validation process known as proof-of-authority.

Proof-of-authority does not utilize mining, which in turn requires much less energy expenditure and carbon emissions along with extremely low transaction costs. We estimate the cost the entire SolarCoin project uses less energy than a single home.


Do I need a cryptocurrency wallet to join the SolarCoin program?

If you are a Sunny Portal customer, you may enroll in the program without having a wallet, and your SolarCoin will be held in a custodial account until you wish to receive them in your own wallet.

If you are not a Sunny Portal customer, you must set up a cryptocurrency wallet and provide your receiving address to SolarCoin to join the program.
