Migration
SLR to kSLR migration guide.
SolarCoin is moving to the Base network on May 15, 2026. Here is everything you need to know about the transition — including the one action custodial holders must take before snapshot.

What is changing?
On May 15, 2026, the SolarCoin team will snapshot every SLR balance on Energy Web Chain and Ethereum mainnet. Existing holders will receive kSLR on the Base network within days, at the same address. The economics are unchanged: 1 kSLR per kWh, just like 1 SLR per MWh before.
Legacy
Before: SLR
1 SLR per MWh of solar production on Energy Web Chain (with a portion mirrored on Ethereum mainnet). Token supply: ~98 billion SLR.
New
After: kSLR
1 kSLR per kWh of solar production on Base network. Conversion: 1 SLR = 1,000 kSLR (same value, different denomination).

Action required for custodial holders
If you do not control the private keys of the wallet holding your SLR, you must withdraw your funds before May 15, 2026. This includes SLR held on centralised exchanges, in liquidity pools, in staking or bridge contracts, or in any custodial account. The snapshot reads on-chain balances — if your tokens are not at an address you control at that moment, the corresponding kSLR will be minted to the custodian’s address, not yours. Withdraw to a self-custody wallet (for example, MetaMask) well before the snapshot.
1.
Snapshot — May 15, 2026
A snapshot of every SLR balance on Energy Web Chain and Ethereum mainnet is recorded. Your balance at the moment of snapshot determines your kSLR allocation.
2.
kSLR distributed — within days of May 15
kSLR tokens are minted on Base and claimable from the same wallet address via the migration portal. If you control your private keys, no action is required — your balance is mirrored automatically.
3.
New rewards begin
All new SolarCoin rewards are issued as kSLR on Base. Register or re-register your solar installation to start earning.
